FDA Office of OTC Products acting director

Executive Summary

Paula Botstein, MD, Office of Drug Evaluation I Deputy Director (Medical Affairs), will be interim director of the Office of OTC Products. Botstein will be working on a part-time basis in the new position. FDA is in the process of evaluating candidates for a permanent director of the OTC office. One of the candidates is Michael Weintraub, MD, an associate professor of community medicine, pharmacology, and medicine at the University of Rochester. The structure of the new office is awaiting final approval from FDA's Office of Management and Operations.
