Company has received FDA approval to begin clinical testing of its recombinant human growth hormone, Saizen. Trials will involve 70 patients at 30 centers. Saizen, which is produced by mammalian cells, is identical in amino-acid composition to the natural hormone, firm says. Serono is also developing growth hormone releasing factor.
