Executive Summary

Chain requested a hearing before the Ohio Board of Pharmacy to explain purchase of repackaged Kroger merchandise that was transferred to two Revco units in Ohio. Revco's appearance before the Ohio pharmacy board did not pertain to drug diversion ("The Pink Sheet" April 21, p. 9). Under FDA regulations, a chain may buy a product in bulk and repackage it in smaller sizes for sale solely within its own stores. Revco told the Ohio pharmacy board it was unaware that the inventory acquired from Kroger had been repackaged.
