Patent extension requests

Executive Summary

Glaxo is requesting a two year extension for its topical steroid Temovate (clobetasol propionate). Approved Dec. 27, the product's patent is to expire March 20, 1990. Boehringer Ingelheim is also requesting a two year extension for its Mexitil (mexiletine HCl), which was approved Dec. 30, until May 4, 1995. On behalf of patent holder Yamanouchi, ICI is seeking patent extension of one year and 233 days for its Cefotan (cefotetan). Approved Dec. 27, the patent for the antibiotic is effective until April 21, 1998.
