Firm announced the drug has been given orphan status by FDA for the treatment "of certain low blood pressure states." Roberts said an NDA is to be filed this year and approval is expected by the end of 1986. Midodrine, to be sold under the trademark Midamine, was licensed by Roberts from the Austrian firm Chemie Linz AG. Roberts said it will market the drug in the U.S., Canada, Austrailia, New Zealand, South Africa and Scandanavia.
