Bio-Technology General's human growth hormone

Executive Summary

Firm announces it has isolated an enzyme that cleaves off the "artificial methionine extra amino acid found at the terminal end of hGH genetically expressed in bacteria." Bio-Technology said it is starting animal toxicology studies and hopes to begin clinicals in two to three months. Firm said its hormone "should prove to be less immunogenic than hGH available from other companies that contains the artificial amino acid." Partnerships for investigation and commercialization of the hormone are expected to be announced in May.
