FDA Budget Freeze
Executive Summary
FDA would be subject to a FY 1986 budget authority freeze, under plans outlined in a preliminary Office of Management and Budget deficit reduction package submitted Dec. 5 to the White House Cabinet Counsel by President Reagan. The freeze, which is designed to produce outyear savings through FY 1988, is similar to that proposed for many other federal programs and agencies, including the National Institutes of Health.
