McDonnell Douglas plans a second middeck electrophoresis project in early 1985. The company is working on a "totally automated" electrophoresis operations in space factory with "24 times the capacity" of the Discovery unit. That unit is set for flights in July 1985 and December 1985. A "free-flyer" electrophoresis factory could be launched in 1989, McDonnell Douglas predicts
