DTI, BioHorizons strengthen position in digital implant dentistry

Executive Summary
In a bid to "move implant dentistry into the digital age", digital dentistry specialist DTI Dental Technologies has merged with dental implant developer BioHorizons Implant Systems to form BioHorizons. With total revenues of $150m in 2007, the combined entity is claimed to be the largest implant dentistry company globally. BioHorizons will have around 1,000 employees, with 23 operating facilities in North America and eight in other countries. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
