Bangalore-based Opto Circuits, said to be one of India's leading healthcare equipment manufacturers, is to grow its patient monitoring business with the acquisition of US firm Criticare Systems. Opto definitively agreed on Monday (Feb 25) to buy Milwaukee, Wisconsin-based Criticare for $5.50 per share, giving the total transaction a value of $68m. The purchase price represents a 19% premium over Criticare's closing price on Feb 22.
